Why does my dog rub his face on the carpet after he eats dinner2007-11-25 2:56:11

It is more than likely an allergic reaction to the food he is eating. Take him to the vet and discuss alternative protein sources such as duck or venison.

It's possible he's got an itch or he's got something that he ate stuck to his gums or somewhere near his face.

OMG my yorkie does that too! He growls (playfully) and rolls around on the carpet while he rubs the sides of his face on it. I thought I was the only one with a weird dog that did that. He does it after he gets a bath or is all wet too.

I'm not sure why they really do that, but it's definitely not an allergic reaction like OLAC said. If it was, I'm sure my dog wouldn't look so happy when he's doing that as he does.
