Why does my dog suck on his blanket
My dog lays down with his blanket, pulls and tugs on it until he forms a ball shape and then he starts sucking and chewing on it. He actually zones out while doing it, like he might get if dogs could take drugs. Why does he do this?
Answers:lol I think this is funny and cute. I have a 10 1/2 year old Dobie that suckles on toss pillows. Has done it for years. I buy the pillows just for her. I don't know why she does it but it's not hurting anything so I don't mind. I was told she was taken from her mother at too young of age but that is not the truth when it comes to her. She is the only dog I've ever had that has done this. She'll suck on the corner of the pillow and uses her front paws to kneed the pillow. Sorry I can't give you a reason as to why. Just wanted you to know your dog is not the only one.
Becuase he thinks hes still a baby he will get ov er it my pug use to do it all the time but he also got over it dont worry about it.
From what the vet told me it's because he was weined to early from the mother, the sucking is a type of regression and a comfort thing for him
