Why does my dog whine constantly2007-11-25 2:56:15

my dog whines constantly,, he never bark but just whines does any one maybe know why?

Answers:

Usually this is caused by axiety. Just a lot of built up energy I'm assuming. Is he a large, active breed? If so, then if you arent already, take him for at least an hour long walk every day. If you cant spend a whole hour you can break it up into halves or quarters. If this is a smaller dog we're talking about then this could be the same case. I'd try the walking, that's the only thing I can think of.

If it seems that your dog may be whining because of pain, then I'd have the vet check him out. There might be something inside aching and making him uncomfortable.

My Siberian Husky does the same thing, she is adopted so I dont know what happened to her before I got her, She is very scared of men so the anxiety answer sounds like a good one to me.

Take her to the vet - it could be nothing but boredom and pent up energy, but it could also be something more serious. She may have health issues that you can't see and she may be in pain.
