Why does my female puppy hump my adult female dog2007-11-25 2:56:40

She is a 17 week German Shepherd puppy and she humps my adult female dog.whats up wit that? Neone pleaseeeee...

its normal, lots of female dogs do it.. there is NOTHING to say it has anything to do with dominance. they says its to teach the males how to do it, but im not sure that anyone really knows why. its just a part of growing up and going thru doggy "puberty".

she will probably grow out of it, but along the way it might be handy to train her not to.

when she does it, just push her off gently immediately, and say NO in a very firm loud voice.

may just be horny, some females in the animal kingdom tend to act like a male and be dominant, just like humans.

Umm she needs something to hump. Im not sure why shes humping a girl dog but my freinds dog is a male and is fixed and he humps my nebors male fixed dog. Weird ehh?Hope this helps.

my dog who is a male used to hump his toys then we got him neutered and he has only done it once since then if you want to breed though and cant get her spayed ask your vet for ways to get her to stop... separate them when she starts,,, it will help her break the habit

she is near coming on heat. some females starts on 5 months or 6 months. when they hump another dog( female/ male) give or take 3 to 4 weeks she will be on heat.
