Why does my staffie lick and bite his paws2007-11-25 2:56:44

For the past couple of weeks my staffie has licked and chewed his paws i`ve had a look and they seem abit red in between his paws i would be gratful if anyone knows what is wrong

Sounds like a fungal infection between his pads. It will be driving him mad but the vet can give you something to bathe his feet in which should clear the problem up. Dont let him suffer please - two weeks is a long time to be so uncomfortable.

Maybe they are itching, have you started using a new floor cleaner or something?

he could be allergic to the grass or somthing that you are using to clean the rugs. please take the dog to your vet.

Sounds as if he has an allergy to something. Have you changed your washing powder, changed his food or taken him on different walks where something could have been sprayed?

Assuming your staffie is a dog (!) then probably because there's something irritating them. It might be that they've got really dry or something, or possibly he's got something stuck in them. If it continues, best to take him to a vet. If, bizarrely, Staffie is not a dog, then I'd be very concerned :-p
