Why is it I never see white dog turds nowadays2007-11-25 2:56:20

This is a serious question. I'm British but maybe it's the same everywhere. When I was younger, I can always remember seeing white dog turds on the streets/parks, etc. Nowadays, it's always brown. Why is that? Maybe i'm just mad?!

I saw one the other day in my garden! I was quite shocked as had not seen any for some time. Maybe they are making a comeback! I wait with breath that is bated.

Years ago people used to give their dogs bone meal to complement their diet ad this resulted in white poo!Nowadays the food offered is far more complex and that is why you dont see this type of poo anymore-the simple fact is dogs diets have improved with research and vets intervention so they have a far more balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

Before everyone started feeding their dogs special dog food from the store, dogs used to eat raw meat and bones and all sorts of things. The calcium in the bones made their poop white.

My friend feeds her dog a raw diet (like real bones and real meat) and his poop is white.

I reckon more dog owners are picking up the turds and selling them to Sainsburys for their 'Taste the Difference' campaign. This leaves less shite on the streets, unless you live in London, and therefore it doesn't lose all its moisture, it's that moisture loss that caused the whiteness, but you would know that if you ever kicked one and saw it explode into a foul-smelling white dust ball!

seriously, i had this conversation with my hubby not so long back when we were walking our dog and he didn't know either. in a weird kind of way, i'm pleased you ask...lol, just so i can read your answers. sorry i haven't been helpful though.
