Why is it that so many people cannot properly spell "Shepherd"2007-11-25 2:56:20

I see it spelled incorrectly at least 20 times a day on here.. "Shepard" I hate to be a stickler but why cant people spell a simple word? I mean its easy to remember and not only that if you think about it it is derived from 2 words... "Sheep" and "Herd" thus "Shepherd". When written "Shepard" it wouldnt even be pronounced the same.. Shep-ard Shep-herd. Why do so many people misspell the word???

I 1000% agree! It drives me crazy. I don't think you are being a stickler - you are saying that is not the correct spelling. A fact is a fact. Why should we not expect people to use correct grammar? Let one or two things slide and soon you have an avalanche. A typo is one thing (I always proofread but still have my own from time to time), but not knowing the spelling of your own type of dog!? Urgh.

Oh, and while we're on it - it's "does" not "dose," people. "Does anyone know...?" not "Dose anyone know...?" A dose is an amount of medication!

um, who actually gets to use "shepherd" more than once every year?

i haven't had to spell that word in 3 or 4 years. maybe 5? see what i mean?
