Why is my Shih Tzu so wierd
My Shih Tzu hates to walk on grass, doesn't like going for walks outside and sleeps all the time. What is the deal? Should we get him a friend?
Answers:Depends on the age of the dog. Shih Tzu puppies sleep alot but most puppies will play hard and then sleep. My Shih Tzu sleeps alot and doesn't like to take walks, she would rather run in figure 8's in the back yard and then lay down and sleep some more. They do not require alot of exercise that is why they are so good for working people and apartment living. If he interacts with you and plays some, he is probably ok. They do like to have other Tzu's around and thrive in pairs. Hope this helps. If he has tear staining try this product it really works.

definatley get him a friend it could also be its personality and just be lazy, u never know but dogs always luv friends!
Your shih tzu may be depressed. It could also have low thyroid or something, which would make him tired. I'd ask my vet. Never heard of the not wanting to walk on the grass thing, not even in the dogs I've rescued from the puppymills. Your right, he's weird.
I have a Shih Tzu too. My family tells me I have spoiled him but I didn't. They all have there own personality. My dog takes food out of his bowl and eats what he wants and leaves the rest on the floor. He also chews or sucks the hair on his ears. The sound drives me crazy. He also will not eat any kind of snack or treat but the little small white rawhide bones he is picky. No I don't think if you get a friend it will help. See if you can get him interested in toys. Teach him to fetch.
my shih tzus r weird to just in a different way mine act like cats my female even stalks my male like a cat the way she moves she looks like a cat both will play all the time and most people say they r calm lap dogs with the grass try picking up the dog carrying him to the middle of the yard with a ball or something hie loves to play with and sit in the grass and play and how old is he he may need the sleep b/c hes a puppy
