Why is my Shih tzu shivering when she isnt cold
My 2 year old Shih tzu had her routine 3 month hair cut last Friday and ever since she has been shivering - not constantly but seems distressed? It is upsetting me as I know she isn't cold (or at least I don't think so as she has her hair cut regularly and hasn't done this before! ) Has anyone else with a shih tzu experienced this with their dog before? What is it!!!?
Answers:Shivering can be a sign of anxiety and getting a hair cut could do it, except that it sounds like she is used to it.
Did someone new do the haircut that could have mistreated her and traumatize her?
Try getting her a sweater just to make sure she isn't cold, and if that doesn't fix it, I would consult a pro to evaluate her.
it could very well be a sign of anxiety or some other form of distress, especially since she only does it now, after a particular grooming session. unfortuneatly, there are groomers who do not treat the dogs well, and i suggest you get the name of her groomer and tell the manager that you are concerned about how your animal was treated. it may also have had a bad run in with another dog in the kennel area.
small breeds sometimes shake for no reason, but this is suspicious. good luck.
i dont know if this is true but it could be your shih tzu is scared. i have experienced that with my dog when she was on her way to my house for the very first time.
Your shitzoo is distressed.
