Quit feeding him from the table and as soon as he gets hungry believe me he will eat dog food, our three dogs do that. They turn on the puppy dog eyes to get us to feed them table scraps, and when we don't give in, they eventually go to their feeding dish. Sometimes though, we get suckered and go ahead and feed them, just don't overdo it, and don't feed them chocolate! It causes liver failure. Ipecac will induce vomit if you've given them chocolate. And yes, ALL dogs get liver failure, just because yours hasn't doesn't mean it won't. Gl gl mzz
Yeah. show some will power and only give him a little bit once in a while as a treat.Fat on dogs helps breed Fatty Tumors, bad joints, smelly breath, and internal organ problems.
Yes, stop giving him table food. When he's hungry, he will eat his own food. I had a dog that loved people food, but we were careful to not give him too much. Your dog has developed a taste for human food, but you'll have to reduce the amount you give him. He will eat his own food when he's hungry.
Don't let him have the food. You are in control. You are the only one with opposable thumbs. He is just a dog. If he is training you to give him table food, and you don't want him to have it, don't give it to him.
Well for dogs, if you feed them any type of human food then they will want more if it. Their food gets boring after a while. They can have table scraps but feed it in their bowl and make them sit patiently. Simply, stop feeding him the table scraps. DO NOT give him any. Then he will learn that you are not giving it out anymore and he will go back to eating his own food.
Simple. If you don't offer your dog table food, he will eat his real food. Even if you are tempted to give your dog your table food, do not do so because you will only be spoiling him.
Ya gotta stop feeding him people food. He likes it. He'll wait to get it until he gets hungry and realizes its not coming, he'll eat to survive and turn to the doggie food. Make sure you have info on what the recall on dog food includes.
stop giving it to him...simple.
Don't ever feed a dog from the table! They remember and will hold out for it (by not eating their) and or never stop begging. If you are going to give him table scraps put him out of view then put the food in his dish, don't let him associate his food with yours. BIG issue we never had to deal with because we were strict.
If he steals, like mine do, its best to try to keep him out of the kitchen/dinging room. Here's how:
