Why is my dog eating table food too much than his real food is there a way we can teach him not to2007-11-25 2:56:24

-Put 8-10 pennies in an empty soda can

- Put masking tape on top to keep the coins in

-Use painter's tape or masking tape to mark off the area you don't want your dog in

- Shake the can and say "NO!" every time the dog passes the tape line

Within a few weeks, or months if your pup is particularly daft, he will get it.

If begging is a problem, simply don't give in. Never feed food from the table or while you are cooking. If you want to give scraps, put them in his food at normal feedings.

Don't give him any more people food. Dogs like people food not because it tastes good, but because it's so fatty. Naturally, dogs are built to eat alot while they can, so they can burn fat to survive until they find a new food source. House dogs are similar, so they go for the food that'll put the most fat on them.

Don't give him any people food, and he'll start eating his own. Send him away from the table while you eat, and don't let him sit near you if you're eating away from the table. It won't hurt his feelings, that's actually more natural to him than getting it when he asks for it.
