Why is my dog eating table food too much than his real food is there a way we can teach him not to2007-11-25 2:56:24

Well, if he's not helping himself to the fridge to get the food, you or someone in your house must be giving it to him .. here's just a thought...STOP FEEDING HIM TABLE FOOD ... seems pretty straight forward to me hun.

Presumably, he's not sitting at the table with you, so you simply don't put your plate on the floor. It's a really bad habit for you to get into particularly if you ever have company. It grosses out a lot of people.

So is your dog going to the refrigerator and fixing himself a sandwich? LOL You are the human, he is the dog. Don't give him people food, it is bad bad bad for him, at least a regular diet of it is. This is what I do. While my hubby and I are eating, my 2 dogs are looking up at me with those big ol eyes, and I just ignore them. Then when I am done eating, I give them a little tiny treat, like a tiny bit of the chicken or meat that I am eating. If I am eating something that is not fit for them like pizza or something, I keep some boiled turkey in the frig, and give them a little tiny bite. Never at the table, but away from the table after i am done. Other than that they get good dog food and good dog treats. You are in control, you can do it. Too much people food will kill your dog. Good luck with changing your habits.

Yes, Just stop giving him so much table food. Only give it to him once in awhile and in very little amounts as a treat only here and there. Or just cut it out all together.

well you opened pandora's box. dogs should not get table scraps. they have formulated dog food for a reason. table scraps will only make them fat and pudgy. show a little restaint and will power and do not give him any. also dont let him beg at the table for food.
