He has lately been waking up and drinking alot of water. He also has been having to go potty at 3-5 in the morning lately and he used to make it through the night!
Answers:If your dog is drinking water through the night then yes he will need to go out, My dogs do not have water through the night as they just sleep right through the night like we would.
In the majority of cases, there is bacterial infection, often with crystals present as well. Sometimes only crystals are present. If crystals are present, they usually cause irritation and infection in the bladder before merging into forming bladder stones.
Bladder stones can occur in animals as young as 2 months, but normally occurs between the ages of 2 and 10 years. Bladder disease can occur in dogs and cats, both in males and females.
Symptoms
鈥?Frequent urination (often in unusual places)
鈥?Bloody urine
鈥?Dribbling urine
鈥?Straining
鈥?Weakness
鈥?Depression
鈥?Loss of appetite
鈥?Vomiting and pain
Early detection is extremely important, as untreated bladder disease may develop into a serious health problem. Early detection can prevent complicated and costly treatments, and can save your dog or cat from pain and illness. If detected early, urinary bladder disease can often be treated with antibiotics and a change in diet. Stones are often removed by ultrasound, surgery or through a change in diet. Some cats have a genetic disposition to crystal development, and require special diets or medications to control crystal formation.
He could have a bladder infection. Call your Vet.
Time for a trip to the vet. Dogs can get diabetes, too, so the symptoms might indicate that. Don't delay.
Sounds like he might be diabetic. I work at a vet and diabetic animals tend to have to drink A LOT of water, and consequently, have to go out much more often. Take him to your vet and have them run a blood test.
don't let him drink all night long,, are you feeding a premium food? is your food on the recall list? more info please
Dogs that start to drink a lot of water could have Diabetes, it is also a sign of organ failure in older dogs, either way, you need to take him to a vet. Good Luck.
