Why is my friends dog throwing up2007-11-25 2:56:28

Her dog ate last night, but did not digest he threw it up the next morning.

That's all you got?? Undigested food from last night suggests that he might be blocked.. Food sitting around all night long generally is getting digested and by morning is poop.. I would take him to the vet.

I would tell your friend to take the dog to the vet asap because they will be able to find out exactly what is wrong with the dog. If the dog ate but threw it up then he may have something caught in there which will eventually cause him even more problems. He also may have eaten something that he shouldnt have. the dog most likely has worms, in which case the dog will need to be dewormed. Or if the dog ate to much greasy human food they will throwup until they belly feels better. If the dog dosn't stop with in a day or so you might want to take it to the vet

I work at a veterinary clinic and we always tell people to bring in their pets if they are vomiting, lethargic, have diarrhea, are ont drinking water, or are drinking too much water. Any of these would be cause to worry. Because dogs can not speak, we have to judge based on these ailments. If you threw up, you might know it's because of something you ate or you might go straight to the doctor. As a dog, he could've just eaten a bug or something, but if it happens again...bring him in immediately. It is not worms, because then the worms would eat the food, not cause the dog to throw it up. However, it could be a wide variety of other things.: allergies, just a weird digestion or stomach acid, wrong food, or the dog could be seriously ill. I say be safe than sorry.
