talk to a vet or even a physician.
im guessing its a little confused ~~ scared so idk
if it doesnt drink for like another day or so
take it to the vet
maybe it just needs to get used to where it is..
hmm
try putting some water in the food bowl with the food like
soak the food in water
so that way it drinks
Not sure...is it supposed to have milk? I'd google around to find out what's going on or if it's normal.
When I got my puppy she was a little depressed. She missed your mother and was probably scared of this new environment. Maybe your puppy doesn't know "how" to drink and eat. I'd hope she doesn't rely on her mother for milk in which case I suggest you give her milk, in a bottle if you got one. Then if that does work get her used to it and switch with water. Just let her know that she is supposed to eat and drink that stuff.
dont worry, when they take their first sip, they'll slurp, even though its cruel , push the dogs head into the water so it'll get a taste of it
it is scared and for the next week or so it will miss mommys milk and what not.
Stick the nose in the water and when they lick their lips and taste the water, 9 times outta 10 they will start lapping.
As long as you've made the puppy aware of where the water is (next to the food i hope) you have nothing to worry about. Just make sure she know's where it is. Splash a little around the bowl. Otherwise, she'll drink when she's thirsty.
I wouldn't worry just yet. If you got the puppy earlier today, make sure the water dish was cleaned prior to you filling it for him/her. If it's a plastic dish, they might turn it down if it's got a chemical odor. Make sure the dish is kept out of the sun (you wouldn't want to drink warm water would you?) and I'm sure they'll drink when needed. Good luck with your puppy!
Maybe the puppy is used to being fed milk off the mothers nipple and needs to be weaned into drinking water out of a bowl. You'll probably have to give it a little more time and keep trying to get the puppy to drink until it does. I'm sure once it gets thirsty enough it will be willing drink the water and begin doing it on its's on like normal.
i guess... shes not thirsty. is her food watery??? like something...if her food is not watery. i think the puppy is sick... or something. go and take the puppy to the doctor. k??? take care of the puppy....
might have been taken from his mom to soon
Something wrong with the water? She will drink, just give her time. Check to see if she's dehydrated. Pinch the skin on her back and if it snaps back fast he's hydrated if it takes a while she needs some fluids in her- best take her to the vet. Puppies are usually in shock when they get to a new home. By the way 7 weeks old is wayyyyy too young to be taken away from the mom- thats a bad breeder.
She was probably separated from her mother too early. The general rule of thumb is that a puppy should not be separated from its mother earlier than 8 weeks old. I would consult your veterinarian if this behavior persists. It is not normal for a puppy not to drink.
the pup is scared has the puppy ever drunk water what is it accustom to drinking milk try asking the pet shop for more info
you got her today? Did you ever think that she may not be thirsty right now?
Believe it or not dogs are some peculiar creatures. They are very shy and watch everything we do. If you just got your puppy give it some time. He did eat ,so don't worry about him drinking. He just needs to start to adjust to his new home.
it aint thirsty.
Chances are your new puppy is stressed due to the radical change in environments. Watch her close for awhile and play with her to encourage bonding. Offer her water after some playtime. If she still refuses and continues to do so, you may need to call your vet to make sure she doesn't have a kidney issue.
