Why is my puppy being aggressive
I do not push down on her or punish her, just hold her enough so she cannot get up and wait until she becomes submissive (usually mine will sqiurm a bit then lay still and let out a *sigh*) Then I let her back up and she is much calmer.
You need to establish dominance from an early age and let them know you are control in every situation. But not be so assertive that they still can't run around and play and be a pup sometimes.
You're doing the right thing by putting a toy in her mouth when she bites, so you're definitely on the right track, continue to do that and a "no!" in a stern voice. Puppies want to please you, but they don't understand human games yet-when puppies play they bite and nip each other.
Good luck with your little one! I know they test your patience sometimes-my girl drives me up the wall at times. But remind youself that all your hard work now will pay off in the end! Good luck!
i think.it is just a phase?
they are pretty gay animals. they dont like you, neither do i
I hope you get some good answers, I am having the same problem with my 6 month old Lab/Pit mix. Good question!
She is trying to show you that she is the "alpha dog" and you must not allow this. Your attempts at redirection are the right move. Of course, ask your vet, when you take her in, if there's a medical reason for this.
