Obviously she is keyed into people coming and going through the door. You need to try the following:

1) Start right away to de-sensitize her to the door by not making a big deal of when you leave and when you come home. A lot of pet people feel such guilt at leaving their dog home alone all day and do the "Oh, did you miss me?!? I really, really missed you!!" thing when they come home. Stop that immediately. When you are ready to leave the apartment, put her in her crate at least 10 minutes before you leave and say goodbye then, not when you are actually leaving out the door. Make the leaving be as quiet and an low key as possible. Also when you return, put your things away before going to let her out of her crate and don't speak to her for at least five minutes upon returning no matter how nuts she gets about you coming home. Be low key: "Hi, I'm home. How was your day?" Not tons of hugs and kisses. Low key.

2) When people come to your apartment and you know they are coming at a certain time, have her put in her crate before they arrive. Also, tell anyone coming to visit to totally ignore her for at least five minutes. Don't even look at her or acknowledge her. Again, low-key.

Given time you can likely work through these bad habits she has developed.
