Why is that some people when pets die they act normal and for people like me who are close to the ca2007-11-25 2:56:49

My dear friend. I lost pets for many reasons, like illness or age related. It does not matter if it's been 20 days or 20 years. When I was 12 years old I lost my Wirehaired Dachshund. My mom had taken him for a walk on a cold winter day. I was at school. Our neighbor's troubled son was drunk at 2 PM, and after a fight with his parents decided to drive ... he lost control on the icy road and the car jumped the curb, missing my mom but killing my dog.

I am 38 years old now, and while I am writing this, tears run down my cheeks.

Also, don't be so hard on your parents. I am very, very, very sure they are crying.. behind closed doors. I think they are holding back to not upset you more.

I know they love you very much... andI am sure the loved Liberty very much, too.

It is always tough some people show differently when there pets pass away i had a Maltese for 11 yrs i took it harder then the rest of my family. I feel some people r tougher just always keep something of your deceased pet to keep in memory of them

I can still to this day break into tears thinking about my little kitty and it has been over 3 years. I think that some people just don't have the compassion that others do for animals. It was really hard for me to deal with others that didn't understand because they thought it was no big deal. I had her for 16 years! It was a big deal to me. The worst were the people that scoffed, "It was just a cat".
