Why is the dogs nose always cool even on hot days2007-11-25 2:56:49

I like my dog but I can't bare it's nose touch my skin, which often happens! I don't doubt that it's nose can be wet ( of cousre it is fluid coming out of it's body) but the nose should rather feel warm because all fluids comming out of the body are warmer than the outside of the body. Evaporation causes cooling_yes, but there is a constant flow out of the body of the dog that can keep the nose regularly warm. the future of the relationship between my dog and I depends so much on your answer! Help us if you can.

dogs nose's are supposed to be cool, and wet. when it is dry, and warm it means it's sick. i don't know why the relationship with the dog would depend on the answer, but if you are thinking of getting rid of him just because his nose is always wet, then perhaps you should. give him to someone who wants a dog.

I don't know if you are worried thinking that your dog's nose can't constantly be wet. There is nothing to worry about, sure one day their nose could be so wet and cold and the next be warm and dry.

it doesn't mean anything other than they have a dry or wet nose.

and I'm not understanding why your relationship would change because of his nose.

maybe you shouldn't have gotten a dog at all!

Of course you want his nose to be cold that means he his healthy..warm nose mean sick dog witch happens once in a while but you want him to have a wet cold nose

A dogs nose should always be cold if he is healthy. If it's warm he's not feeling well. A little touch on the nose is often an excellent indication on how he feels if he's acting sluggish.
