Why my female maltese dog did not eat and drink for a week2007-11-25 2:56:51

she was like dead and she only recover after taking cortizone pills.Her Dr said she had inside injury but the xray was ok.

IF that is the case then you would go 2 to other vet doc. I remember that one of my dog that was like that so in the end we found out what was wrong and that was because the dog had lack of stama something like that but I would right now go get your butt up and go 2 the VET RIGHT NOW. P.S: A WHOLE LOT OF LUCK 2 YOU THAT UR DOG GETS WELL

I dont know why she isnt eating. It would be very wise to take her back to the doctor to find out why she isn't eating. Good luck!

maybe she swallowed something that you cant see on the xray...it could be having puppies

your dogs injury could of been such as internal bruising or damaged tissue, this would not show up on an xray.And would also make it hard for her to eat and drink.

First: How old is your dog?

When my aunt's dog died he didn't want to eat or drink, and she would take him to the vet where they would give him medication and he would recover for some time... then it happened again. He wouldn't eat or drink, just lie around the house and he died soon afterwards... the vet said it was just from old age...

I hope your dog doesn't die =[

If it's a female, it may be having puppies. Or, she is really sick and you should take her to the doctors.

you say did not---does that mean it is now.

If your dog has an injury it will do without food but if it has not drank water late 2ed day it should be @ the vets. 3ed day the vet should have either given you a solution that you mix with water to make sure it is hydrated or the vet should have put it on a drip.

if the vet said the x ray was fine was he just guessing on the internal?

I would take to a different vets for a second opinion
