Why punish the dog Its not fair2007-11-25 2:56:52

I hate it when i hear about dogs who were put down because they attacked someone. I REALLY HATE IT. Because its not the dog's fault. Its the OWNER'S fault. The owner is at fault for not properly training the dog and should be the one accountable. Dogs are who we make them to be. NO DOG is born with an intent to hurt, it is achieved through lack of training and the allowance of reckless behavior on behalf of the owner. I also hate when inexperienced owners think that they can handle a dog and then totally fail to provide essential mental training. People should take the dogs who hurt people or other dogs to therapy, training lessons, and get them serious help!! Is there some organization that is against this unfair death sentance? I am so fumed because I just read a question here where a woman's dog was attacked by another dog who had an moronic ignorant owner and someone suggested demanding the attacker be put to sleep! I do feel bad for the victims as well, dont get me wrong.

I understand. The owners like my friend Phong are irresponsible and should not be allowed to own a dog let alone any other pets. They need to be sent to jail. Dogs aren't born mean, they are taught to be mean.

The people do get punished, just not with death. They are fined, and many are not allowed to own a dog again. Also, it's really hard to undo an aggressive dog, so where would we put the dogs that attack?
