Why punish the dog Its not fair2007-11-25 2:56:52

Don't you think that the person that was viciously attacked or lost their child would want that dog dead?? Most people want a person dead if they did something wrong thus the death penalty in some places.. So many times the victim would like to see the attacker dead.. Not just his idiot owner but the dog that did the damage.

I know. There was a stray dog that was "attracted" to our female while it was the "season" and he stayed around but he was hit by a car (we think) before hand and always limped on his back paw. he was VERY skittish, hated people. but we got around to him and he grew attached to us. but my grandma was over and as the two dogs were "together" she pushed him out of her way to get in the door and he bit her and drew blood. And she flipped when to the dr. thinking she had raibies...(not a known case of rabies from a dog bite in this state sense 1952) and she called animal control to pick up the dog and we hid him in my bedroom when they got there. and she was furious but she couldnt prove that we had him and they couldnt get a warrant. He was the SWEETEST dog ever. You dont push between a dog and his mate... especially a mistreated and hurting dog. And she wanted to kill him! it was horrid. But we saved him and took care of him. Named him noble.. never talked to grandma again...

While I would sincerely love to see people who train dogs to be vicious, neutered with a rusty butter knife and no anesthesia, unfortunately, once the dog has attacked and 'practiced' antisocial behavior, it is nearly impossible to rehabilitate safely and reliably.
