Why the pitt2007-11-25 2:56:52

i have a 2 year old pitt bull and all he doas is sleep eat and play!!! hes gorgeouse and i also have a golden labrador retriever who loves to play with my pitt!! but one day i a couple of my friends and i gathered some money too go and donate to an animal shelter when we got there it was depresing the dogs were all so sweet the cats were sweethearts so when we got to the back of the pound we finally realized how depresing it can be all the way in the back were cages and cages of pitt bulls all barking like wild things and when i asked the lady at the pound why they were all like that she said each and every pitt was either abused abandoned or raised 2 be that way wich brought me to the question why are ppl punishing the breed but not the deed???

I agree. Pits have a bad reputation unfortunately. People abuse them and fight them. The shelters are filled with them and they are usually euthanized. Yours sounds well loved and taken care of. I wish more people were like you.

Totally agree my 2&1/2 year son plays with the neighbors pitty all the time couldn't get a nicer dog. Unfortunately some owners miss treat them and use them for fighting dogs - the dogs end up on death row and the owners get a slap on the wrist and do it all over again. Should be the owners on death row I think.

I personally believe it's because of the media!I think its the way they per tray the breed as being vicious. Also a lot of the people who get Pitt bulls do not know how to properly train them in which in return accidents happen.

A friend of mine at work is testifying against a couple who have a total of 33 charges against them for keeping 3 pitt bulls in the house who pushed out a screen window and ate the dog next door. The dogs were put down. The people are charged.
