Why wont my 6 week old pug eat or drink out of his bowl2007-11-25 2:56:52

Could he be homesick for his siblings or mother?

Do you think he could be sick? Take him to the vet. If he checks out ok, he may just need time to adjust. When I went away to college I couldn't eat for days because I was homesick.

My dog doesn't like to eat out of a bowl because he likes to keep his face clean. Have you tried feeding him on a flat plate.

I really hope he is ok, because if you are like me, you already love him.

I would suggest a couple of things, first call the breeder and see if he was eating puppy food already or was still just drinking from his mom then see what kind of food he was eating so you can either continue to give him the same kind or gradually switch him to a different food (if you change his diet too fast they can get the runs), secondly has your puppy had any shots, if not I would really take him to the vet (I had the same problem with my puppy along with spitting up and it turned out she had parvo), and lastly if everything else is fine then he probably just needs to get used to it or he is like my dog, she's almost a year old and still would rather me put her dry food on the floor for her, she only will go get food and water from her bowl when she's desprate, she's my little weirdo ;)
