Regarding a previous comment - there are plenty of us who do NOT eat meat, wear leather, or use any products tested on animals because we value the lives of all sentient beings.
I think that our society needs a to have a serious paradigm shift in the way that we think of other beings.
Some people, like me, don't just "go" get animals! I have ended up with 4 rescue animals. If I had taken these guys to a shelter or a Humane society, they would have been euthanized because of their conditions at the time. ( I've tried the "no kill" shelters, they're always full.) Now that I've nursed them back to a healthy bunch family members, I can't just dump them off. I love them! I take care of my babies, they go to the vet when they need too. Sometimes, people don't know the hole story beyond what they can see. That's why, you shouldn't pass judgment without knowing the whole story!
