Will a dog catch a mouse
it depends on the dog, mostly they will know it their and sniff at its hiding place, maybe go after it, but catching it is a different story, dogs aren鈥檛 so good at getting a mouse, cats are quicker, and quieter, better suited for that kind of stuff. But most dogs will go after animals like that, especially if you have a working dog meant for hinting vermin. I hade a dog once, that would go nuts if he knew a mouse was inside the house, he actually destroyed a wall to get it :(... he would also bring in animals (rats, jack rabbits, maybe a bird or possum) every once in awhile! just to show us he caught it!
Yes, it can. Dutchun does, include snake and some reptile.
Yes, Scotties nature is to catch mouse, rats, moles.
Mine would go crazy digging through a trash pile until they found it.
Yes they can. As a child I had a mixed breed outside dog, and if I would spill dog food on the ground, she would catch and kill the mice when they would enter into "her" area. I found dead mice and a few moles over the years.
Yes, mine do it all the time :)
I have a terrier mutt and she will kill rats in our yard. It depends on the dog.
Absolutely, like daschunds for instance, they're after them like lighning and very successful too.
If it is fast enough to catch it, yes. I have a beagle mix that has actually caugjt one and EATEN it, before I could stop her. Some dogs, if I remember correctly, were actually bred to keep rodents under control.
My housedog, an American Pit Bull Terrier, can (and does) catch them.
yes, my dog loves to play with mice. He went over the gate to get a rat.
Some dogs will and some won't. It just depends on the dog. Both of my smaller dogs love to catch bugs and would catch birds if I let them off the leash outside (I don't by the way because my yard isn't fenced!). My older dog started catching and eating bugs and moths as a very small puppy. I recently got a Papillion and read that they will catch mice. We don't have mice but I assume he would catch one of he could.
My moms dogs will catch mice, will run after them and then eat them. They will also take them away from her cats and eat them as well. I don't think all dogs do this, just like not all cats with hunt mice, but I think most will. Its just as fun for them too.
mice, frogs, lizards and snakes
I have two dogs that run after all kinds of things when I let them. One of them just wants to smack them around with her paws .she won't eat them!
