Will a raw diet make my aggressive dog worse2007-11-25 2:56:33

Get him tired.. Bring him home and make him sit before he gets to eat.. If he is jumping or aggressive, don't give him the food til he calms down. Don't allow him to control you and keep everyone in the other room when he eats.

You should be able to take anything out of his mouth, take his food away from him... You need to show him that you can and will take things away from him.. You will give them back, but on your terms and only when he is behaving the way you want him to behave.

Shouldn't be too much problem, what's he weigh 8 lbs or something?

The aggression needs to be taken care of NOW!! An aggressive dog could bite anyone and you will be at fault. Take the dog to an animal trainer to have it's aggression tested. It is wrong to allow any person to be hurt because they got to close to the dog.

My Dachshund did the same thing, he got broken of the aggression by a Professional dog trainer. It cost me $200.00 but was worth it because I love the dog.

Depends what you mean by raw diet. If you mean, raw meat I wouldn't go that way. I think your dog could become more aggressive. My Dad used to give read bones with marrow to his dog ( used to call them soup bones you'd get at the butcher and the dog would go nuts and become aggressive and uncontrollable) I think your dog would become more protective of this type of food.

Perhaps you need an animal behaviour expert. Another answer would be to go to the vet first and find out if there's something in his food affecting behaviour. The vet could give you much needed answers.
