My brother just gave my puppy a cherry tomato and she ate it.

I've heard tomatoes are poisonous to dogs, so do you think it will make her sick?

She is 4 months old and weighs 40 lbs. It was a ripe cherry tomato, if that matters.

She'll be fine. That wasn't enough to make her sick. It would take a lot of tomatos to get her sick. Good Luck

I've actually never heard that but it could be true. People also say that chocolate is poisonous to dogs. The truth is that it just isn't good for them. One time my two dogs ate almost an entire case of chocolate bars I was supposed to be selling for school. They got sick but ended up being fine.

I would keep an eye on your dog just to make sure it isn't making her sick. If anything unusual happens bring her in to the vet and see what he says.

She'll be fine, don't worry. Both my dogs love tomatoes. They don't eat them all the time but once in a while it's okay.

Your puppy should be fine. I just looked up tomatoes in my 101 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW COULD HARM YOUR PET. Tomatoes are not in there. You should be fine. Just keep your eye on him. He might get diarrea.

Tomatoes can cause tremors and heart arrhythmias in dogs, HOWEVER ripe tomatoes are less likely to be problematic for animals.
