my Great Danes eat everything they can get their big mouths on - we have to be very careful about dropping any food around them! They have eaten tomato's on occasion and never had any problems associated with it - if puppy is not throwing up, sneezing, wheezing or anything like that, she is safe. The citric acid may give her a little diarrhea but other than that, she should be okay. Good to see you are a caring pet owner! Happy days with your best friend!!

I have never heard that tomatoes are bad for dogs. I only know of Onions and Chocolate. I have one dog who eats bananas, oranges, apples, carrots, pears and even lettuce with tuna. His very favorite are melon of all kinds, our other two dogs don't eat any fruit or vegetables.

Just keep a close eye on her and if she starts acting unusual or throwing up, call the vet.

Personally I don't think a small cherry tomato will make a differences. I've seen other people feed their dogs chocolate and the dogs were fine (not that it's a good idea by any means or support that in any way!)

Your puppy will be just fine! :) The leaves on tomatoes is actually what makes them "toxic" to dogs. If your dog ate 4-5 tomatoes worth of leaves, then you might see some GI upset. It takes a lot to be "toxic".

My shih tzu will actually go and pick tomatoes or bell peppers out of the garden and eat them if we don't watch her. She's 17 now, so I guess it hasn't hurt her any but you are wise to be concerned. Tell your brother to stop giving the pup "people food"!

I have never heard that... I dont think you have anything to worry about. My 4 month old puppy will eat almost anything and she has eaten some tomatoes before (it wasnt a cherry tomato though.. lol) and she didnt have a problem. If you are really worried about it, I would suggest you call a vet, but I think she will be just fine! Good luck! : )
