Will our pug be able to make it another year2007-11-25 2:56:39
He has a really bad cleft chin ahd its decaying the inside of his mouth. We've spent so much monehy getting different opinions but no doctor has been able to say exactly what is wrong with our 7 yr old pug. I brush his teeth and see there's actually a hole on the roof of his mouth that he can breate out of any help would be greatly appreciated.
Answers:You mean he has a cleft palate? The only treatment for a cleft palate is to surgically close the opening.
You didn't say what the vets recommended. We need to know that. Without that, all I can say is put the dog to sleep.
Chek with a exotic pet vet. they will probably help. Also try another vet(knows more). If nothing can help,*crying* put him to sleep. It's hard to let go but put him out of his suffering. Good luck. ;..(
This sounds extremely painful for your dog and at one point I'd have to say maybe it's time to put your poor pooch out of his misery. As I don't know any other details, it's really the only thing I can suggest with the information provided. What are the opinions you're getting from the various vets? I know it can be a very difficult decision to put a beloved pet down, but it seems like many people let their pets suffer to save themselves pain. So please consider your baby's pain before your own and good luck with getting him taken care of either way. I hope everything works out.
