Would a Golden Retreiver make a good appartment dog2007-11-25 2:57:00

I'm looking to buy a dog and I live in an appartment. Do you think this would work for me?

They are very very active dogs. I would not recommend it unless you have a lot of time to take him out for walks multiple times throughout the day

Not really, they are active dogs. Look for one that is not a sporting dog and isnt very energetic unless you can do 3 daily walks to give it the proper exercise needed.

Stick to small to med. size dogs with lower energy level if you cant give it enough exerise that the breed needs and enough room in the place.

No...stick with a smaller dog. Retreivers are great dogs but they need room to run and to grow. Boston Terriers make great dogs for smaller homes. They are great with kids, playful and will be your bud for life.

I doubt it... they are outdoor dogs and very active. If you live in an apartment, I suggest a smaller breed... most likely an indoor dog.

No. Absolutly not! Buy a house with a fenced in back yard for retrievers and labs. They need room.
