Long coat chis do not require as much grooming as some long coated breeds, like poodles, yotkies, etc. Daily brushing, once a month bathing. Some people think that the long coats shed more when actually the opposite is true. Smooth coats shed more than the long coats. Even tho they are the same breed, I find the long coats to have a more laid back temperament and have heard many people comment on the same thing. Chihuahuas make wonderful companions, they are the ultimate lap dog. They love to be with their owners. Chihuahuas should be free fed because of the tendenct for low blood sugar, but that is mainly with the smaller chis. Any more questions let me know.
