Would you consider a Shi Tzu a girl dog2007-11-25 2:57:03

My mom has a Shi Tzu and when my dad takes it for a walk all his friends give him a hard time about it. They say its a girly type of dog... What do you think?

I would say that it was, but they are so darling! Like someone said previously more power to your dad, he is THE family man. I applaud him for what he is doing for your mom and for the dog. (And getting himself some excercise in the process).

Interesting question because my husband just got a Chihuahua that will be 4-5 pounds full grown and we already have a 30pound dog,a 65 pound dog and a 145 pound Great Dane so no I don't think it's a "girly" dog at all and I think your dad should be proud to be a doggy dad-his friends are just secretly jealous anyway:>)

Certainly not macho like a Min Pin or a Boston Terrier but its still a dog and if you dad enjoys walking his little dog, Good for him! What are his friends walking? Toy Poodles?

I have two, a boy and girl and my female really loves my husband and my male really loves me I don't think they are a girl dog my husband would disagree

My husband says to tell your dad that he can relate! We have 2 shih tzus and 3 chihuahuas. The smallest is 4 pounds but has such a big attitude that nobody gives him grief about her. Still, the guys DO laugh at him behind her back.

I don't think the little dust mop is girly. But I think your neighbors are chauvinist pigs. Print this and give them a copy. Shi Tzu 's are very beautiful, playful, lovable dogs. I would rather have a your little dog for a neighbor than your neighbors for neighbors.
