yep, marking territory. Has he been neutered? Usually if a dog is neutered before they learn this behavior (thanks to testosterone), they won't do this. He may smell other dogs or a female in heat.
he is making it his home. I wiped everything down with pine sole and it seem to have stop the new guy in my home.
That is his way of saying "this is mine." Other boy dogs cause the probelm , really. If another male dog pees on something, your dog will pee to get its smell off.
