If you find a Yorkie for under $500 it will be a miracle. Will also probably be a horribly bred dog. I always worry when people are wanting a very expensive dog for cheap. You sure need a lot of money to take care of them after you bring them home. Vet care, grooming, heart worm meds, flea and tick meds, spaying or neutering, premium dog food. Please rethink your situation carefully. If you can't afford to pay premium price for a Yorkie, then you probably can afford to take care of one for the rest of its life. Good luck on your search.

It would be highly unlikely to find a Yorkie for under $500, it's just not very common. I have 2 Yorkies and both of mine were $1200. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but usually the better the breeder, the more expensive, and with all the potential health problems with Yorkies, I don't recommend that you just buy from someone because it's cheap. You may just end up with more vet bills than you can afford. Maybe try adopting one at a local pet shelter.

Yorkies are expensive. I agree that if you find a puppy at a cheap price, you need to research the breeder. In CA right now there are scams on CraigsList where someone is selling yorkies really cheap, but they never deliver the dog.

Your best bet is to find someone who bought a healthy Yorkie but found that they couldn't keep it & willing to find a good home for less $$ than they paid. Another option may be to check with a Yorkie Rescue or Small Dog Rescue group. Do your research & don't be in a hurry. Good luck!
