i put frontline on my dogs a few hours ago and they were fine but within the past hour 2 of them have been acting a little crazy like licking the couch and biting at the air and running around and such. and it seems like all the fleas have migrated to their heads.is this normal?

Answers:

I've never had that problem with frontline before but if the fleas are moving around on the dogs, it's sound normal to me. That's how dogs with act if the feel like some thing is moving on them. The fleas must have been pretty bad.

did you put on frontline after they already had fleas? i think it's supposed to be preventative, not a cure if they're already there. if they have fleas, they would need a bath with a shampoo that would kill the fleas, then frontline for the future.
This is normal for topical flea repellents, such as Frontline.

With others, such as Revolution, which I recommend to everyone, they are internally digested into the bloodstream, and then the dog doesn't react like that.

Topicals often burn, itch, the fleas run around and bite while they die. The poor dogs are having a hard time.

Revolution is about $17 a month.worth every cent. It kills the fleas, live larvae, eggs, life cycle, repels mostquitos, ticks, lice and earmites as well as cures mange.

Revolution also kills roundworms and ascarids. It is thought it might kill tapeworms, but it's not definitive.
