abusive stepdad with my dog2007-11-25 2:58:03

so my stepdad is abusive to my dog when im gone. He is home all day & im always working or at school, my mom tells me about this & he hits the dog & is very rough with him, but only when im gone

i have spoken with him so many times before & he just doesnt get it & he denies it. I am sick of putting up with this! Pet abuse its probly by far one of the things that bothers me the most. I have tough about giving my pet away for doggy's own benefit but then again I dont wanna loose my dog , please any good suggestions?

I don't know hoow much you make at your job, but a day care in my area costs $10 per day..6 am -6 pm.You might offer a friend's family $5 per day to care for your dog..Or trade services, such as gardening or lawn care, snow shoveling, shopping, babysitting, or other services they might need..Anyway, if your stepdad sees that you are spending good money, just to keep him away from your dog, he might reconsider the cost of him abusing it..Meanwhile, your dog would be a safe distance..I'm betting that their will be a, neighbor, friend or family member that could use a little cash and would be kind to the dog whaile you are away..

Stick a video camera and find out if this relay happens. If it is true show it to him. Because this is illegal to treat an animal this way.

Are you old enough to move out and take your dog? Pet abuse is the one thing that bothers me the most too. Try to sit him and your Mom down and have a talk with them about it, tell them how much it upsets you. Try hard to try and make them understand.

You could always ask a friend or neighbor to watch the dog while you are away or you can call around for a pet sitter or a dog boarding thing..talk to people about it..and F.Y.I..one time I knew a person that was mistrating an animal.that is serious now-a-days. Talk to a cop or something if it is too bad.i also hate to see an innocent dog or animal of any kind get hurt. Dogs are dogs..if people can't deal with them then leave the house..or in other cases don't have one..grrr.that really makes me mad!!

just tell your stepdad you dont want hitting your dog or you will guve the dog away. ( un less he doesnt want the dog then that wont work.) i would tell him that every time he hits the dog ur going to hit him. JK. other then that i dont know. sorry.

you could report it.but that may require the dog to be taken away, which is what you want to avoid. I'd hit the bastard back.my dad ended up kicking my dog and i hit him back and he realized that "hey, i shouldnt be doing this". It may be a differant story with a male though. I'm a female so, that may have played a role in the cool actions of my dad. But just call your animal control and explain the situation.and see what they have to offer.

Can you report your stepdad to the authorities, or will he retaliate? If your mother doesn't stand up to him, she isn't much of a mom, in my opinion. An innocent pet, or an innocent person shouldn't be subjected to abuse. Also, a person who abuses pets will soon (if he hasn't already) move on to abusing people. You need to protect your puppy the best you can right now, and that means getting him a good home where he won't continue to be hurt. Check with a veterinarian near you to see if their office needs an "office dog." If they can provide him with a "home," I'm sure they'd be more than happy to let you visit him. Explain the abuse your puppy is going through, and ask if s/he has any other suggestions regarding how to help your pet. If you're in danger, and your mother won't or can't protect you, please talk to someone in your school. It is their legal responsibility to help students in your situation. Please don't let this situation continue.and be the best pet owner you can be by protecting your poor puppy!

Do you have friends or other family members who you can give your dog away to? This is a good compromise.People who you can trust and who will allow you to keep regular contact with your dog. As a dog owner I know how hard giving up your dog sounds. BUT if you dog is getting abused you really have no choice. If you were a parent would you let your dad abuse your child? Why let him abuse your dog? It is selfish to keep your dog when you cant ensure its safety and wellbeing.

this happened to a friend of mine and one day when he came home the dog was gone. Your step dad is jealous of you and is taking it out on the dog and not you, I'm sure you can call the authorities about it and would tell him that it will be your next step.

i do not like when poeple do that to dogs. the only way to fix it would be to tell him to Quit but if he does not then you should ask you friend to take him well you are away from the dog.
