anybody know how to train a dog to stop jumping on visitiors

my lab puppy always jumps on visitors to be petted, but she won't really jump on me. its because i've already established dominance or what?? she especially likes to jump on young children like around 3/4' who a barely bigger than her when she jumps. she reaches my upper chest and i'm 5'4''

Now some of the dumber ideas are rattling a can or spraying her with water. Uh huh.. you are going to carry something around for the rest of her life and Labs LOVE water. All the dog learns is no gadget,do what they want.

Honestly these amatuers and their gadgets! Too lazy to learn how to train a dog and they depend upon crutches.

You always have your hands and your voice - use them.

Stop jumping by any of these methods:

(1) A loud 鈥淣o鈥?and push her off and hold her down and scold her with 鈥淏ad, Bad Bad鈥? Then tell her 鈥淥kay,鈥?let her up and give her a pat (if she doesn鈥檛 leap again.)

(2) A loud 鈥淣o鈥?and time it so that as she comes off the ground, you bring your foot forward and step on her back foot.

(3) A loud 鈥淣o鈥?and as she comes up off the ground, raise your knee so that she hits it with her chest and bounces off.

(4) If she jumps up on others, get a leash and collar on her. Set her up so she gets exicted and does th ejumping up on someone else. As she leaves the gtound, haul back on the leash jerkiing her backwards,, give a roaring NO (in a DEEP voice - don't let your voice go up, make it go down), and as she comes backwards, grab her, pin her to the ground and scold in an authoriatrian voice. Let her up - relax you voice and face, tell her "calm" and let her approach the person. If she keesp all 4 feet on the ground, she gets petted. She leaps, do it again..
