are dalmatians easy to care for2007-11-25 2:58:25Answers:

Personally, I've never had one, but the guy across the street from me did and he was fantastic dog. He lived to the ripe old age of 16, too.

The dog was really a sweetheart, but he shed like crazy when you would pet him, , which I thought was very surprising for having such short hair. He told me that dog shed badly ever since he was a pup, so other than that he had nothing negative to say.

Yes they are. i have a dalmation pointer mix named winnie. she is a mush. shes not hiper at all. But your dog is going to get big. to teach it not to jump. but pretty much, dalmations are excellent family dogs!
very high energy dog. Some health problems are associated with breed. as well as some associated behavior problems. research before buying one.
sure they are easy to care for,, like any other dog, But be warned, they are not that smart!
they are NOT easy to care for, but i wouldnt say that any dog is easy to care for. An animal is a huge commitment and alot of work. they require lots of time, training and money. vaccinations, medication, food, toys, grooming, and that is just the beginning. Its worth it all, but only if you are in the position to be a good parent should you ever get an animal. I have a wonderful dalmation that i rescued from an animal shelter because the people who had her before me were not prepared for pet ownership. I would not reccommend getting a dalmation for any first time pet owner, as they are very energetic, stubborn, and can be hard to train. Also not the kind of breed that will be happy living outside. they want to be with you at all times. i hope this helps you. good luck
Damn sure they are . My family has been breeding dalmations since the time I was born or maybe before that.
I've heard Dalmatians tend to be skittish and hard to train. Not too sure though, check on the rescue sites, they usually have some of the bad habits the breed is known for so that you understand exactly what you are getting yourself into.
yes I have had 3 of them. they were easy to train even the deaf one that I had. They did have alot of energy, but they were great dogs and very loyal.
