Answers:

I've done this.they are for about a day or two but when they realize that they get more attention from you they get over it and like being #1.

Yes - they often mope for the lost partner xx
yes, one of ours pines when the other goes to the vets on her own, Dogs are very mcuh like humans, they don't like it when another dog they have known for a long time goes away for any length of time.
what in half? They wouldnt be sad for long, i would say bout 30 seconds.messy though

However i wouldnt recomend hurting a dog.. Its not a very nice thing to do..

Yes, it happened to my dogs when my ex husband took one of them and I took the other after divorce. My dog behaved like he was sad and depressed,( I know, dogs do not have human emotions, but he appeared sad) so I adopted another one and he is a lot better now.
It depends on the dogs and what sort of relationship they had, but it is quite common for a pair of dogs to miss each other.
Sure, just like we would be. Our Breeder suggest that when you split up any dog/puppies you take a towel /old t-shirt and rub it all over the dog that will be missed and let your dog that is leaving sleep with it or carry it around for awhile
Yes but if they get affection and good care they soon get over it.
The answer is both yes and no. They don't recognize their litter mates as individuals, but they do miss being with litter mates. So they do have a sense of loneliness for a while, and to alleviate that sense of loneliness is your job.
Yes dogs have emotions just like we do. When they r first born they bond with mother, brothers, sisters because that's who they first meet at birth so that dog or puppy become attached so when separated they become sad and even depressed. its just like a new job.when u first get there u may seem a little attached but eventually with time u will fall right in like an old pro. Giving the right amount of love and affection and attention they will soon perk up and the sadness will disappear
I think so when they are pups and they first come to you they do whimper and cry for a while. But giving them plenty of love and affection should help the separation process. Also give them pllent of soft toys to cuddle into , it makes them feel that they are cuddling up to their subling pups.
yes, they miss their family
yes for a few days then they r fine, i split my rotty n staffi up n now the rotty is fine.
Yes, when one of my pups goes to a new home, the mother and littermates are very sad for a few days and I am sure the other pups is feeling the same way. I have seen the mother with huge tears in her eyes when she sees a pup leaving. Same with adult dogs. If one dies, they will grueve for the lost pet.
