i think my dog has fleas she keeps on scatching her self constantly , im afraid to purchase a flea colar because my son plays with her all the time.

I actually put a flea collar on my 3 kittens. Within 4 days they all had huge bumps on their necks. It was awful. I would not suggest it. I would suggest advantage or frontline. As long as you keep the dog away from your son for at least 24 hours to let it dry then he should be fine.

You definately want to get the fleas taken care of though because they will bite that child all the time.

It should be okay if your kid is older (1st grade or older), but they aren't too safe with younger kids. If your child is older, be sure to make him wash his hands often no matter what. If your child is younger, use flea drops or get flea baths for your dog.

Flea collar are safe with children, they are not toxic and only contain a flea-repellent of sorts. However I recommend getting ur dog defleaed using special shampoo instead of getting her a flea collar; my dog used to have the same problem but after flea collar was fitted it turn out that it worked perfectly鈥nly now the fleas have switch to us and have abandoned my dog as a host. Just buy special shampoo and washed him/her down very thoroughly and also give ur house a complete clean up, especially rugs and under carpets where fleas kept their eggs and pupae and u should have no problem dealing with it.

no , they aren't even "safe" for dogs. its a pestiside!. so i use advantage the best best flea killer. still bad for the dog but so are fleas! and with advantage the kids wont touch it every day.
