what are your opinions on rottweilers. my daughter has two

big dogs. they mostly stay inside , i dont like it!

We have friends, with 4 kids (12, 10, 8 and 5), that just adopted a 3 yr old Chow and Rotty mix. They had a friend over for dinner just this Saturday and it bit their friend! Skin wasn't broken, but they returned the dog to the pound because they don't want to take a chance on having their kids' friends over and the dog biting them, or anybody else that they come in contact with for that matter.

Yes, one can say that "it depends on how the dog is raised", but one must remember. TEMPERMENT IS INBRED. It is in the dog's blood as to whether they are aggressive or not. Rotties are known to be aggressive.

I don't know how long your daughter has had these dogs. I only hope that she has taught her kids the do's and don'ts on how to treat and act around a dog. especially with having a Rotties.

well you wouldn't like it if you had to live outside right! I feel soprry for your dog, it must be sad for it to live outside in the cold while you get a warm cozy house! I hope you won't treat your rottweiler like that!

i have two rottweilers and they NEVER once bit my two children. but there difrent then your dog! you can only tell if they r mean. mostly they are not but thats MOST.

Well It depends on the dog and how tolerant they are of the children. If I was to have any dog especially one that could be ify around children I would get it as a puppy to grow up with the kids. They are less likely to turn on the children and more apt to protect them if they are raised with them. If it is something that makes you uncomfortable while there ask her to put them outside.

it depends on how they were raised. if your daughter raised them to be good dogs, then they wont hurt anyone, if she raised them to be violent then shes got problems. big dogs are nothing to be scared of if theyve been raised right. my sister has 2 small children (11 months and 4 years) and theyve been around big dogs all there lives.(labs, st. bernards, german sheppards) its all about the upbringing of the dog
