First, there is no such breed as a malti-poo. It's a designation made up by unethical 'designer' dog breeders. You have a mixed breed dog.

Secondly, I don't care for flea collars. Visit your vet and get your dog on Frontline or something similar. And make sure that your house isn't the problem. Bomb it for fleas and you'll have a much easier time keeping them off your dog.

Never. Flea collars are often toxic and might make the wee doggie sick or worse. Also, flea collars do not work.

Honestly, I wouldn't waste my money on a flea collar. They are only effective within two - three inches around the collar, while the fleas live happily on the other end of the dog. Use one of the topical oils. Frontline is my favorite, but there are others as well.
