at what age should a dog be housebroken
is there a cerain age at which dogs should be housebroken? my little guy is 5 months, he is still confused about where to go depsite crate training etc. So i was just wondering if there is a certain age they need to be trained by
Answers:All dogs are different, but physiologically, they should be pretty much trained by 6 months. Their little bladders have the capacity to "hold it" for longer periods of time and they are "getting it" that they should go outside.
You may want to review your methods. Some dogs respond better to different training methods. Maybe get a book.
You also may just have the "slow kid". There one in every class that just needs a little longer to process info and learn.
Good Luck
about 5 to 6 months
They should be started at about 8 weeks, but there's no telling how long it will take. your guy sounds old enough to start getting it, but I wouldn't give up on him, one of these days you'll be surprised at how well he's doing. Older dogs tend to be a little bit easier to train too, so I don't think there is a certain age they have to learn by. Maybe you should read some books and make sure your crate-training him the same? I'm not sure.just dont give up!!
your dog should be trained by now, how are the feeding patterns?
i fed mine & 5 min.'s later let him go outside "potty", i noticed it
