Positive reinforcement, be it treats, praise or loves or all of the above. Most puppies/dogs will respond well to treats and I've found that it only takes a tiny little bit. you can break apart one treat and get a lot of mileage from it and it won't fill your pup up too much. Good luck!

Don't be too hard if they don't listen, they're getting bored of not understanding you so be patient when it doesn't listen and max up the praise when something correct is done. If they do something right, repeat it a couple of times while it's fresh in the mind.

Before giving commands, plan a library of clear words, one for each task. Dogs eventually gain a vocabulary of around 200 words but they need patience, and repetition every day.
