can anyone tell me a site to for dog breeding
It's probably illegal and been closed down!
go to google and search the breed of dog you want.
NOPE!
There's NO SUCH THING!
*&* I wouldn't tell you if I DID!
If you're so IGNORANT of the BASICS.you have NO BUSINESS even CONCIDERING breeding *ANYTHING*,let alone dogs!
Can't do that on the internet yet!!
Please do not listen to GitEmGang, as I think that are permanently in a state of depression or something. Still haven't seen a useful answer yet from him/her.
Everyone is a amateur when they first start doing anything. No one is born with innate knowledge of breeding dogs. Everyone has to learn and not everyone learns the same way. I know that I learn best with a hands on approach rather then reading it in a book.
best thing I can tell you to do, is contact a local breeder of the breed that you want to breed and talk with them. They are very knowledgeable and may be willing to let you watch a breeding and whelping as well as anything else you want to learn.
Dog breeding is a big responsibility. First, do you have both on site? If not, you have to pay a stud fee or pick of the litter etc. It doesn't always take the first time. Then what if something goes wrong and your dog needs a C section - are you paying that cost; then there are the puppies, it is fun but a lot of work; if you are an interested breeder and not a puppy mill, then forget anything other the pups for eight weeks; then there is advertising costs, puppy shots; screening ; if it doesn't work out , be prepare for someone to return a puppy; it is not just breed them and they do all the work. What if there are 10 puppies born, are you prepared to clean up after 10 pups? If you have a yard, forget the grass; are you breeding so the pups will be born in the winter - good luck; what if your dog isn't a good mom, inexperienced; not all dogs are good at raising pups ; what about the delivery ; there can be complications where a pup isn't breathing - are you prepared for that crisis - there are a lot of jerks out there who will want a pup , do you just let them have them? What if a pup is born with a defect - are you keeping it? paying for vet costs?
Here's the Kennel Club site that deals with dog breeding:
http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/breeding.
It contains an introduction to dog breeding, a checklist, info on how to become a KC accredited breeder, info on health screening & DNA, how to register your litter & sell your puppies, among any other things.
Hope this is helpful.
