can you pad train a dog thats already been house broken if so how2007-11-25 2:59:49

i have a 3 yr old shiba inu and shes already been house broken, i want her to pad train her but nothing seems to work i even use those drops that u spay on the pad to attract her to pee on the pad but she doesnt want to go she would just wait until we take her for a walk.

Why on earth would you want to train a dog to go to the bathroom inside your house.

It will be tough for her to learn. You could take one of the pads with you on her walk and try and catch some of the urine, then try and use that pad to train her where you want her to use the pad. I once had 3 dogs and 2 were paper trained and 1 wasn't. I thought the 1 would never use the paper but he eventually caught on but sure took him awhile.

She's house broken, do you realize how many people would love to get their dog to be house broken?

If the back yard is fenced, leave her out there until she goes. She probably doesn't realize that she can potty out there too and not get into trouble. Or take her for a walk in the back yard, maybe she'll take the hint and while on the leash go potty and understand she can go in the back as well as the front.

Take the pad and soak up some of her own pee on it. This worked for my chihuahua. They need to smell their own pee on it to want to pee on it. Good Luck.
