Funnily enough heres a story that would say yes..I have a basset and she was really ill once and I have a dog flap. Anyway, cos she had stiches they put one of those lamp shade things on her head - well she really hated it obviously. One day I came home from work and she was nowhere to be seen. Then I get a knock from my neighbour who said she is round his house as she had got out the dog flap and couldn't get back in. Well he told me how she got out. Cos the lampshade thing wouldn't let her out she went through it backwards so she could get her head out. How clever is that!! Mind you she forgot how she did it cos she couldn't get back in! After that I realised when she never came back to me in the park she wasn't being thick just bloody minded!

Yes she can, she does it when shes in the park or on the moors after dropping her Frisbee at our feet, she walks backwards until you pick it up and throw it for her.
