chewy dogs
My puppy is at that rambunctious age where everything is her chew toy, most especially my clothes and pillow cases. What's the best way to train her not to do this and do they grow out of it eventually?
Answers:Use a lot of positive reinforcement. Buy some rawhide chewies that take awhile to chew as opposed to treats that are "inhaled" within seconds. :)
Everytime you catch her chewing something she's NOT supposed to , take it away from her (or her away from it!), firmly tell her "no" and give her a little spank, just to let her know who's in charge. (Note - not meant to hurt, just to get attention). Then, hand her a chewy and say "good girl!" Everytime you "catch" her chewing the designated chewy, give her lots of praise. Go nuts. Make everyone think you're psychotic because you're SO excited by how good your baby is because she's chewing her chewy!!

I had the same issue. It takes time and patience.but she'll learn. Hang in there!
You could:
a) spray her with a water bottle and give a firm "NO" when you catch her chewing on something you don't want her to.
b) spray the stuff she is after that you don't want her to have with "apple bitter" is a nasty tasting harmless spray
c) make sure she is getting lots of exercise to tire her out and give her toys that are ok to chew. My dog has "chewies" all over the house and other then my odd hair clip (that I accidently leave in her reach)that is all she chews on!
Like with anything else - training! You need to repeatedly and consistently tell her no. Make sure she has a good variety of things she can chew on - of different textures and hardnesses. And yes, puppies do grow out of this stage - with training, soon after they're done teething.

Puppies, at a young age, need to chew.
Do you leave her at home in the daytime? If you do, maybe buy a crate with a lot of room and put her in there during the day. Or maybe you could get a gate for the rooms you would prefer her not to go into.
And, but of course, a dog will chew on it's chew toy.
