my 7 mnth old male cavalier king charles just ate about 1/4 of an oz of 85% cocoa baking chocolate. is this lethal and wat can i do
Answers:no its not lethal but chocolate is not good for a dog to have it all the time i gave my last dog chocolate he loved it i use to say to him sing for chocolate and he would start to bark and howl after a while he got very sick ended up he got a tumer from it I've never forgiven myself for that so no its not lethal but its not healthy a bit like smoking

Wow!! Yah Chocolate can make a dog very sick!! Some dogs react differently to the chocolate, My suggestion is take your dog to the vet and make sure that everything is ok. If you don't want to do that, watch for unusual behavior, eating habits, and bowel movements.
The dog will be ok, don't worry.
Get to a vet if you see your dog behaving erratically or acting off colour. 85% cocoa are the words that ring alarm bells. If it was dark chocolate then it is more toxic to their systems. Keep a close eye on him and ring your vet for advice and do it now.

And if you have a dog that small, there is no excuse for him to get into things like this. put chocolate UP where he can't reach it.

It doesn't sound like the dog got enough to hurt it. But just to be safe I would call the vet and explain over the phone. I'm sure everything is okay though. My dog has gotten into oreos before and she ended up being just fine.
